Jack and Erin

Barbara Boland, the founder of The Boland School is a certified teacher (TCRG) and adjudicator (ADCRG), registered with the Irish Dancing Commission in Dublin. She is a former regional and national champion, an All Ireland medalist and represented North America at FIve World Championships in Ireland.

Also on staff is Courtney Lussier TCRG, twice Mid-Atlantic Oireachtas champion and World Qualifier for 15 consecutive years. She teaches dancers ages 4 and up and is available for private tutoring.

The Boland Dancers are well known throughout Monroe County for their lively performances. They have thrilled audiences at local festivals and venues such as The Eastman Theater, The Eastman House, The Center at High Falls, the Blue Cross Arena, Frontier Field, City Hall, Strong Museum, The Hochstein School and the Memorial Art Gallery. They have shared the stage with such noted artists as The Chieftains, Solas and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, the dancers annually perform many hours of community service at area hospitals, nursing homes and fundraising benefits.

Dancers at the school have successfully competed at local, regional, national and international events. Our dancer's accomplishments include winning 1st place at the Mid-Atlantic Oireachtas Championships, multiple top 5 placements at the North American Championships , top 10 placement at the World Championships and top 5 placement medals at the All Ireland Championships. Soloists at the school have qualified to represent the Eastern United States at the World Championships every year since the school started..
